What this Degree Prepares you For

The students in the Culinary Arts degree program at Eastwick College learn a wide range of cuisines and study all aspects of food service operations over the course of either 18 months for day classes or 24 for evening classes. The learning environment provided to the students features a state-of-the-art cooking facility designed by the executive chef for the renowned international restaurants Carmine’s, Virgil’s, and Glen Rolnick. Upon graduation, graduates are prepared for entry-level positions such as prep cooks, and with experience, these opportunities can turn into positions such as chefs or food service management.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment growth for chefs and head cooks is 10 percent, which is faster than the average. The annual mean wage of chefs and head cooks in the tri-state area is $59,570.
