The role of an LPN is varied, but key to any sort of medical establishment. Here are some important job duties of Licensed Practical Nurses:

Care for Patients

One of the most important duties Licensed Practical Nurses must help with is to care for patients. LPNs check vitals and are on the lookout for any changes. They perform basic duties such as dressing wounds or changing bandages, making sure patients get the proper amounts of food and liquids, and in some cases administering medications.

Maintain Records

Licensed Practical Nurses help to maintain and keep records of patients. LPNs help to record specific information from patients and write down changes of any kind. Maintaining records of these kinds are important for keeping track of patients. Having accurate information written down is necessary to ensure the health of patients for any changes in care or medication that may occur.

Report to Doctors

LPNs report to doctors and Residential Nurses who have the final say in the care of patients. All of the findings and records on patients go to either an RN or doctor to help aid in the final say for care on patients.
