Occupational Therapy Assisting (OTA) is forecast to have a 30% employment increase by 2026. The average OTA annual salary is just over $65,000 in the NY/NJ Metro Area, making it one of the highest paid occupations for those with only an associate degree. Eastwick College quickly realized the need for an Occupational Therapy Assisting program at the college and became the first private-sector college in New Jersey to offer one. Interest in the program has exceeded the College’s expectation and classes are predicted to fill quickly.
The program itself is 21 months long with hands-on training taking place in specialized classroom settings. Occupational therapy assistants work with occupational therapists to help someone who has difficulties doing daily activities due to an injury, illness, or disability. If you are someone who thrives on helping others, earning an OTA degree may be the perfect career move for you.
